We’ve written in the past about what are blockchain-based games and what do blockchain games look like, but we haven’t yet compared blockchain games to the traditional games most people are familiar with.

So today, we want to introduce how are blockchain games different from traditional games.

Characteristics of traditional games

  • Assets are owned and controlled by the game developer

The game developer develops the player’s assets. Even if the player acquires a large number of assets in the game, it does not belong to the player, and the game developer can also determine the player’s assets.

  • Game assets are not transferable between games

For example, in “World of Warcraft” players can sell game items to make money, but they can’t directly trade in the game. Instead, they need to be transferred offline and cannot exchange other game assets.

  • Player history is hard to track and share between games

Since player data is not public. This means that any other game can not access and use that data.

Characteristics of blockchain games

  • Assets are owned and controlled by the player

Players who spend money on blockchain games can obtain ownership of in-game items through this technology.

Players can not only manage the assets in the game, but also trade and sell these assets. Therefore, playing blockchain games allows users to get rewards composed of NFT and Token. These Tokens can be used in the built-in mall or traded on the exchange.

  • Blockchain game assets are interoperable across games

We can’t control how players buy or sell game assets

Players can purchase game assets directly from other players instead of through in-game stores. Players could also get game assets from an escrow service or in bulk from a bad actor who managed to exploit your smart contract. This means that game developers cannot rely on building business models around marketplace fees, and they cannot prevent players from reselling items.

  • A continuous record of player and data history allows developers to create personalized content

The players own their data, Since player data for blockchain games is stored on a blockchain, it’s public. This means that any other game can access and use that data. Even game competitors.

Much like the physical world, you can’t prevent other games from using game artifacts and assets. Just as you can take pieces from a Go game and use them on a chessboard to play checkers, you could also take game assets from one blockchain game and use them in another game.

Summary

All blockchain social, entertainment, financial and even economic systems can be integrated with blockchain games.

In GameFi, all blockchain social, entertainment, financial, and even economic systems can be played with the blockchain. Perform fusion.Blockchain game may make the game industry better.
